The following terms and conditions apply to the use of Hillsborough Local, including directory listings, the Spotlight mailer, and giveaways.

Directory Listings and Editorial Discretion

Hillsborough Local curates and maintains its directory listings at its sole discretion. Inclusion in the directory is invitation-only and may be modified, suspended, or removed at any time without notice.

Hillsborough Local does not guarantee the accuracy, availability, quality, or performance of any listed business and makes no representations regarding the services or products offered by listed businesses.

Spotlight Mailer Placements

Businesses may be featured in the Hillsborough Spotlight mailer as part of paid placements. These placements are promotional in nature and do not constitute an endorsement, guarantee, or representation by Hillsborough Local regarding the quality, performance, or services of any business.

Inclusion in the Hillsborough Spotlight does not imply ranking, rating, or preference within the Hillsborough Local directory. Directory listings are curated independently and are not influenced by payment.

Hillsborough Local reserves the right, at its sole discretion, to refuse, modify, suspend, or remove any placement or promotional material at any time.

Giveaways

The following terms and conditions apply to all giveaways.

No Guarantee of Value

The value of the giveaway is determined at the sole discretion of the business for which the giveaway was posted. There is no guaranteed value in a claimed giveaway regardless of what is printed, posted, or written on the giveaway, the website, or in emails.

If for any reason the business is unable or unwilling to fulfill the giveaway, the giveaway cannot be returned and cannot be refunded. The giveaway has no resale value and can be rendered null and void at any time by the local business for which the giveaway was posted.

We obtain the business owner's permission and approval to post the giveaway. We also recognize that conditions can change quickly, especially for locally owned businesses. Therefore, neither the business nor the business owners are under any obligation whatsoever to fulfill or comply with the giveaway.

Claim Frequency

No person may claim more than one giveaway every three months and no more than four giveaways within a 12-month period.

No Cash Value

Giveaways have no cash value and cannot be exchanged or redeemed for cash or store credit at the local business.

No Resale Value

Giveaways may not be sold or resold. You may freely transfer the giveaway to someone else, but you may not sell or post for sale any giveaway.

Giveaway Expiration

Any expiration, restriction, or redemption terms for a giveaway are determined by the participating business and will be communicated at the time of pickup. Hillsborough Local does not set or guarantee any redemption window
