Sullivan Wealth Management

Rooted in Hillsborough, Built for the Long Run
Thomas Sullivan has lived in Hillsborough for most of his life. A graduate of Hillsborough High School, he grew up here, built his career here, and chose to plant his business here. Sullivan Wealth Management is not just located in town. It is a reflection of a deliberate choice to serve the community he has always called home.
His path into financial services started in an unlikely place: an auto repair shop. Sullivan spent his formative years working alongside his father and grandfather in the family business, learning early that clients come back not because of what you sell them, but because of how you treat them. That lesson shaped everything that followed.
After earning an accounting degree from Rider University and spending 15 years in financial services at firms including PNC Bank and Bank of America Merrill Lynch, Sullivan founded his own practice and affiliated with LPL Financial, the largest independent broker dealer in the country *. The structure gives him the platform and compliance support of a major institution while letting him run his practice the way he sees fit: with his clients, not a corporate playbook, driving the decisions.
The range of what Sullivan handles is broad. Retirement and income planning, investment management, Roth Conversion Services, required minimum distributions, 529 college savings accounts, insurance, and estate planning all fall within his practice. He has helped young professionals open their first IRA accounts, guided retirees through Social Security decisions, and stepped in to help clients manage estates through unexpected loss. That last part matters to him. Several reviewers note that Sullivan was there during difficult personal moments, not just market swings.
What his clients come back to most in their reviews is not any single service. It is the consistency. Sullivan commits to returning every call and email within 24 hours during business days, and the feedback across years of client relationships reflects that. One piece of advice he gives everyone: start sooner. The most common thing he hears from new clients is that they wish they had come in earlier.
Sullivan and his wife are raising their family in Hillsborough. When he’s not in the office, he’s at home with five children…and eighteen chickens.
