Licci & Gullett Accounting

Adding Up to a Lasting Partnership

Jaclyn Gullett and Susie Licci met in their first accounting class at The College of New Jersey, long before either of them had a client roster or a business name. The friendship held steady through separate career paths, both women becoming CPAs and eventually landing in the same place professionally: ready to build something of their own.

That something became Licci & Gullett Accounting, a full service bookkeeping practice focused on small business owners. Jaclyn built her background across corporate finance in the healthcare industry, an audit role at Deloitte, and tax work with smaller companies, sharpening a habit of treating financial reports like puzzles to be solved rather than paperwork to push through. Susie’s path ran through Ernst & Young, where she managed corporate tax accounts in media and entertainment, a regional firm handling tax returns and QuickBooks accounts, and an in house role at HBO preparing and presenting tax reports. Along the way, she also became a National Board Certified Health and Wellness Coach, an experience that shaped how she listens to clients and translates their goals into a workable plan.

Both are CPAs and both are Certified QuickBooks ProAdvisors, though they describe their strengths as complementary rather than identical. Jaclyn leans toward financial reporting, Susie toward tax knowledge, and the two also use each other as a sounding board when necessary. Their job is to make sure a client’s books are clean, organized, and ready to hand off to a tax-preparer without friction, while also providing financial statements and reporting insights that help clients understand where they stand and make confident decisions. They describe their approach as hands-on, staying available to answer questions if anything comes up along the way.

Jaclyn grew up in Belle Mead, just next door to Hillsborough, and has since made her home in Hillsborough, where the business is based. She was drawn to the area’s open space, hiking trails, and the towpath, along with a genuine interest in working alongside the local businesses she has come to know in the community. Ask either of them what they hope a client would say about them, and the answer is consistent: that they took the time to explain what the numbers actually mean, not just report them, and that they made themselves available every month rather than letting questions pile up.

It’s a local business operation built by two people who know each other’s strengths well enough to make sure nothing falls through the cracks.
